We were set a research task yesterday, finding out what the world would be like if there was no concept of sleep. We were told we could look at it politically, socially, environmentally, or culturally. In our group we decided to look at it socially, and more specifically to look into what people would be like in a world without sleep.
In our group, we all chose a different topic to do with people in a world with no sleep. I decided to research into mental illness and what the affect would be on us if we were living a non stop life; being awake for an extra 8 or so hours a day and therefore being more exposed to the things that can trigger mental illness. I think if I couldn’t climb into bed at the end of the day, I would probably be in a psychiatric hospital right now.
A world without sleep is not a world I want to be part of.
Of course, when our progress was checked upon, our group wasn’t approaching it properly, we were thinking too literally and we had to start again.
In the last hour or so we started and finished the visual book shown in the image, which we were pretty proud of, but would have liked more time on.
